The events that occurred 10 years ago were very emotional, charged with determination, risk taking and expectations. There was a real sense of history in the making. The decade that followed was yet another exercise in resourcefulness, patience and gaining experience of the discrepancies between ideals and the reality; even some gracious quiet and happy living happened along the way. As I always say, the first thousand years were the toughest, the following 300 were even harder and right now we are doing rather well at least for the moment and we can prepare for the next hand that history deals us in peace. If we still feel like playing, that is.
